(CLE) The Christmas lighting experience

Escrito por - Friday, 12 December 20084 comentarios

There was around Christmas on last year when I was driving back home and I crossed my way with a special pick-up. It carried, on it’s rear side a huge Christmas tree with hundred of small lightings. The driver’s face was actually a common face, no Santa, no deers, no red hats, nothing.

"Well, Christmas spirit is around", I thought.

But this year I have had a new "lighting" experience. A young and a multi-lamp dressed man driving a multi-lamp bike with a mp3 player spitting related carols (he was caught here).

OMG, this country is definitely electrified!

This was a very amusing post, Mariano. When I first got the e-mail notice at work, I didn’t have much time to read the article and couldn’t tell very well what was in the picture (maybe I need glasses for X-Mas!). So I searched the internet later for a better picture, and instead bumped into this article:

Even though the part about RIAA cracking down on this Christmas biker-character was I’m sure a gag (joke), I wouldn’t put it past corporate knuckleheads that it could actually happen for real and we would read about it in CNN-Weird News section! : /

You know, this being a time that -as you also shared in LA CIENAGA with your latest post- we should try to bring about and look for hope, cheer, and a sense of the Christmas spirit in our ordinary and daily lives- there are still people out there that don’t get Christmas- literally!

Well, it looks as though you found it, man- and I hope that it was not only amusing, but made you feel more of the X-Mas spirit up there in Washington! Yeah, I know it’s not quite the Villancicos, “Los Seises”, and el turron del Espain!- but it’s another way of Christams to experience from. Have a Happy Holiday up there in the meantime!

PS- Just to throw you another piece of “americana”- I cracked up when I read that the biker’s name was Jim Olsen. This is the “Jimmy Olsen” that many of know from reading comics as kids:
